Getting to Know "Next Week"

"Next Week" is a thoughtful group of 6 musicians: Mary, Jake, Meg, Dalton, Jordan, and Joey.
We say they're thoughtful because all of them together gave more answers to our interview questions than all the other bands! (We appreciate it.)
"Next Week" has some next level, in-depth answers to these interview questions, below:
How did your band come up with that name? Tell the story.
Mary: A bunch of people were missing for musicals, so we decided to name the band Next Week.
Jake: I'd veto it, but I have no power because I just got here.
How long have you been playing your instrument?
Mary: I honestly don't know, maybe 2.5 years.
Meg: I was born and just about the first thing I did was sing.
Dalton: It all started thousands of years ago in the ancient land of Mesopotamia, I invented guitar. That was six years ago.
(as the inventor of guitar, we hope that Dalton makes ancient Mesopotamia proud! No pressure.)
Jordan: 2 years
Joey: 8 or 9 years
Jake: 3.5 years
If you could magically convince one famous musician, living or dead, to join your band, who would it be?
Jake: Prince because he was my motivation to listen to songs outside of what I usually listen to.
Joey: Paul McCartney because he's a cool guy.
Jordan: Tre Cool because he's a truly cool guy.
Dalton: Eddie Van Halen because he's my inspiration.
Meg: Eminem so we could have some cool beatboxing.
Mary: Dallon Weekes because he's a better bassist than I am.
Why is it so important for a musician to perform and collaborate with other musicians (as opposed to always just practicing alone)?
Mary: Because if you play by yourself at home, you only hear one instrument at a time.
Meg: At home, you get used to singing yourself to sleep and sometimes you have to share the love.
Dalton: There's no I in Team, and teamwork is an important skill.
Jordan: You can learn and play with people that are better than you.
Joey: Good to improve musicianship.
Jake: If you are the only person you ever hear, you might think you're better than you are and not know about other styles.
What is something you've learned from another musician in your band?
Mary: That it's ok to sit and play.
Dalton: That spitting in your guitar will fix it.
Joey: I appreciate how Dalton sings bass harmony.
Describe the most extraordinary, memorable moment you've ever had with your band.
Meg: The one time after band, we all went together to Black Dog.
What do you guys do that's special – that you think sets you apart from all the Music House bands?
Mary: We wear crocs.
Dalton: We're a team, and we're friends and actually like each other.
Jordan: We're working on a Queen medley.
Imagine one of your friends takes private lessons somewhere (not at Music House). They tell you that they love music and wish they were as good as you, but they're getting bored with lessons and might quit. What advice would you give them?
Dalton: Come to Music House, we have great classes.
Will "Next Week" wear their crocs at the upcoming Battle of the Bands? Will they play their new Queen medley? Come and find out at our next Music House event!
