What the heck does "Bed Soul" mean?

Drayson: It's a term made up by our lead guitarist for someone that spends their day in the bedroom. Daniel: Yeah. Dray basically said, "Our name is Bed Soul." So, that's how that happened. Nathan: I came up with something cool but we didn't use it. RIFF ZONE! Wyatt: Unfortunately, "Howitzer" is already a name of a band. |
Who are your biggest influences?

Wyatt: Led Zeppelin, Tool, and Black Sabbath. Nathan: Nightwish's first album, Evanescence, and Cryoshell. Drayson: Boy's Age and early Nirvana. Daniel: Gene Krupa and Imagine Dragons. |
How would you describe your band's style?

Drayson: Garage band mixed with angst. |
What has working with a real band taught you?
|
Nathan: You can't just go at your own pace. Drayson: I can hear accents in parts from the individual musicians that I would not have thought of. Daniel: It's a lot more fun than playing by yourself. |
Do you guys write your own music? If yes, do you prefer writing your own stuff or covering others?

Daniel: Yeah, we do and that's what I prefer. I really like Dray's originals. Wyatt: I like a solid mix of both. It's a fun to play a song on the radio, but it's also cool to say, "Hey - I made that!" |
What do you think the difference is between a good band and a great one?

Daniel: What's the difference? Us. Drayson: Understanding your bandmates and your fans. |
You guys are performing at the upcoming Music House Fall Carnival on Oct. 29. You stand to win recording time and a performance slot at an upcoming music festival. What excites you most about that show?

Wyatt: Winning. We can turn music into a competition. We can destroy! Drayson: Seeing where we stand on the spectrum of the local bands. Recording time will be cool. |
What's going to set you apart from all the other bands competing on the 29th?
|
Drayson: Well, we have me (laughs). Nathan: We are Bed Soul! Nobody has that. |

Nathan: Music. Yay! Wyatt: I'll second that. |
