Kevin Farrell Piano / Brass

Kevin is a Kansas City area native and started his musical journey in choir in grade school. In the fifth grade he started playing trumpet. Because of the trumpet, he was introduced to jazz in high school and fell in love with music through jazz. This is also where he got his start in teaching. Kevin graduated from UMKC in 2021 with a Bachelors in Jazz Studies and studied under Bobby Watson, Stan Kessler, Mitch Butler, Adam Larson, Roger Wilder, Nate Nall, Marcus Lewis and among other great players and faculty who are dedicated to their craft. UMKC is where Kevin started exploring other instruments. He is a freelance musician that plays in a variety of different bands and genres around the Kansas City area. These genres include pop, jazz, hip hop, Latin, rock, funk and church music as well as mixes and many other genres. One of Kevin's life mission statements is to give back and help others enrich their lives through music.
