Shamika Franklin is happy to be joining the Music House School of Music as a vocal music teacher. She has prior teaching experience as an elementary teacher, tutor, teaching artist, and Music Together Teacher in both the Los Angeles and Kansas City area. Originally a Kansas City resident, Shamika has performed as a vocalist and actress on stages such as Disneyland Entertainment, The Kansas City Rep., and the Stella Adler Theatre. Back at home, she is eager to immerse herself in the many musical stylings and beauty of music, such as jazz, soul, blues, musical theatre, gospel, and folk storytelling. She looks forward to teaching these same fundamentals and a love of music with the students she encounters.
